At the full text stage, studies were excluded if they were located outside the study region (locality), if they did not target Arctic terrestrial vegetation (population), did not assess effects of herbivores on plants (exposure), did not compare different levels of herbivory (comparator), focused on ecosystem components other than plants (outcome), their design did not address current ecological contexts in the Arctic (study design), represented unsuitable text types or presented the same data as other studies (redundant).
